Why we give.

Giving is critical for Christians. Our Lord gives from the first chapter of Scripture. Christ’s life is understood in terms of giving (2 Cor. 8:9). The Spirit promotes generosity (Acts 2:46). The Old Testament trains us in patterns of giving so we can be like our Lord. The New Testament places giving at the center of worship and Christian community. Give to God, through your church (2 Cor. 8:5), with much thankfulness since God gave first and best (2 Cor. 8:15).
