The Ordinance of Communion
Aug 23, 1998 • Pastor Roger Skepple
The second ordinance that is part of the life of the church is that of
communion. This ordinance has several different names, such as the Lord’s
Supper, the Lord’s Table, and the Eucharist just to name a few. In the early
church of the first century the communion service was part of a larger event
known as the Love Feast. The Love Feast was a common meal that was taken
after the church service that concluded with the communion service. It was
meant to be a joint dinner in which the entire body participated together.
