Work and Rest (part a)

“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. 

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (Shabat) on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested (Shabat) from all His work which God had created and made.

4 “And now the LORD your God has given rest (nuakh) to your brothers, as He spoke to them; therefore, turn now and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan.” Joshua 22:4

Genesis 2:2-3

“And God completed on the seventh day the work that He had done” 

“And He rested on the seventh day from His work that He had done.”

 “And God blessed the seventh day and He made it holy.”

Matthew 11:28-29

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
